CHAI Student Health Insurance

For the third year, your daughter / son will be insured under the CHAI Student Medical Plan.

The plan has the following features:

  1. Dr. Lazar Fruchter, the medical director, who has over 30 years experience in caring for overseas students will oversee and coordinate the medical services between schools, parents, students and doctors.
  2. In most cases, clinics are arranged at the school through Dr. Uri Gordon.
  3. Comprehensive insurance coverage through Harel- Israel's largest health insurance company. There is no deductible or co-pay. See policy conditions and table of benefits.

  5. The plan is administered by Egert and Cohen who bring their experience of over 30 years in student health insurance. www.egertcohen.co.il
  6. Egert & Cohen will be the back office to arrange specialist appointments, blood tests, CT scans, etc. Our dedicated team will assure that all technical details are dealt with promptly and professionally.
  7. In case of hospitalization or serious medical conditions in the ER, a private,     qualified nurse will attend and report to school, parents and Medical Director.
  8. Option for adding cover for pre-existing or chronic conditions.

  9. Option for adding cover for Poland trip: This is done through the school

Policy Cost:

Option #1: Full School Year: $615.
Option #2: up to 5 months: $320
Option #3: up to 7 months: $435
Option #4: $1.80 per day (minimum premium $70, up to 3 months)

Details of Coverage
Sudden Deterioration of pre-existing illnesses/medical conditions where:
In the 6 months preceding the arrival to Israel:

  1. The medical condition has been stable.
  2. No hospitalization.
  3. No change in the dosage of medication being taken.

Coverage: Up to $10,000
Psychiatric emergency: up to $3,000

Exclusions:

  1. Any condition for which the treatment was expected / for which a doctor in the applicant’s home country recommended the applicant not travel to Israel / for which the applicant was on a waiting list for an operation or treatment.
  2. AIDS, transplants, M.S., dialysis, C.F., sexual diseases, heart disease, malignant diseases (such as cancer).
  3. No cover for refills of medications related to the pre-existing condition.
  4. Applicants over 40 years of age.
